Earlier this month, I spoke to Oxfordshire-based make-up artist, Rachael Parrey. Rachael is passionate about make-up and how to create a look that works for you - especially for your wedding. So here are some of her tips on how to achieve the perfect look for you for your special day - including those must-have items:
I've known Rachael Parrey for a while - aside from a shared love of make-up and having sons who are the same age, like me Rachael is a regular volunteer with Look Good Feel Better at Maggie's Oxford (Look Good Feel Better is the international cancer support charity, providing practical and very effective free services for women and teenagers suffering from the visible side effects from cancer treatment).
Whilst planning update to my photography, when it came to great make-up for the shoot Rachael was naturally the first person I got in touch with. As Make Up Artist and Beauty Therapist based in Thame, Rachael provides beauty treatments including manicures, pedicures, eyelash extensions. She is also a fully trained make up artist providing a varied range of make services including bridal, photoshoots, TV, film and special effects. I was really keen to find out more about some of Rachael's favourite things, what inspires her look and how she works her own personal style.
Summer is the season for dressing up and special occasions - from a day at the races with friends to family weddings, there are lots of excuses to get glam!
Hats have been an accessory of the chic and sophisticated for decades but in recent years the likes of the Duchess of Cambridge, Zara Phillips Tindall, Katherine Jenkins, Dita Von Teese and even Lady Gaga have made hat-wearing current and fun.
A fabulous hat is the perfect way to give your look the WOW factor and there are a multitude of options to choose from, whether it's small and simple to fabulous and flamboyant - the question is, which to go for?
This month we've collaborated with milliner Beth Hughes to offer you some expert advice on choosing the right headwear for your special occasion this Summer.
