In Summer it somehow seems so much easier to get out and move - walking, cycling, running. But come the winter, once you've stepped through the door it's easy to stay there. But with research that dance-based exercise has hugely positive results on the mind as well as the body, I was intrigued to learn more about the popular Jazzercise classes that are run across Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire - by a truly amazing team who have energy and enthusiasm too. So I know they're fit - but what inspires the look of the team running the classes in and around Thame, Haddenham, Chinnor and Waddesdon?
Rosie and I have a shared love of food and having both started our businesses at the same time along with having sons of the same age we have a lot in common!
Rosie is a knowledgeable and supportive nutritional therapist and owner of Nutrition by Rosie based in Thame, Oxfordshire. She has a passion for supporting those who seek to understand and put into practice the concept of healing the body with food and lifestyle. I love Rosie's naturally creative style - and wanted to find out more about her fashion faves and places that she loves too.
It's not usual for me to write a personal post, but a couple of weeks ago whilst catching up on summer holidays with friends over a coffee, I was asked how on earth I managed to pack for a three week rail trip around Europe with just a backpack. So here it is - my capsule train-friendly backpacking wardrobe with room for a few little luxuries.
In the Autumn of last year I was working through some of the updates I wanted to make to my website and whilst I love my current pictures I felt they needed a refresh too.
Photographer Becky Rui was originally recommended to me by a friend and I love the pictures she took for me in September 2012. Two years on it’s time for a change so we arranged a shoot for the following Spring, 2015.
I've known Rachael Parrey for a while - aside from a shared love of make-up and having sons who are the same age, like me Rachael is a regular volunteer with Look Good Feel Better at Maggie's Oxford (Look Good Feel Better is the international cancer support charity, providing practical and very effective free services for women and teenagers suffering from the visible side effects from cancer treatment).
Whilst planning update to my photography, when it came to great make-up for the shoot Rachael was naturally the first person I got in touch with. As Make Up Artist and Beauty Therapist based in Thame, Rachael provides beauty treatments including manicures, pedicures, eyelash extensions. She is also a fully trained make up artist providing a varied range of make services including bridal, photoshoots, TV, film and special effects. I was really keen to find out more about some of Rachael's favourite things, what inspires her look and how she works her own personal style.
I was delighted to work with Italian Architect, Elena Jackson to bring the Spring Summer '15 Fashion & Home Event to Princes Risborough in March. Born in Milan, after art school and a degree in Architecture, Elena decided to move to England with the excuse of learning English. That was 16 years ago - she now runs a successful interior design business Interior&Design alongside enjoying family time with her three young children. Elena has a real flair for discovering pieces that will look good and work hard in your home, and it was really interesting to get her perspective on creating a great space for the Spring event as well as making it an interesting, informative and above all, enjoyable day. I loved finding out more about Elena's favourite fashion finds and style inspiration...
I'm so excited about this month's My Style, as I've had the opportunity to find out all about amazing photographer Becky Rui. I first met Becky in 2012, and since then have worked with her on my business photography, a family shoot and also the Handbags for Hospices auction event which I organised in September 2013. Becky doesn't just take photos - she is talented at finding out exactly what you want from your shoot, be it wedding, personal or professional photography. I can't wait to work with Becky again in April where we will be updating images that reflect some of the new and exciting areas I have been working on plus developments in 2015 and beyond.

This month, I'm back in Thame talking to my friend and super-talented architect, Lynn Palmer.
Lynn set up her own business (Lynn Palmer Architects) five years ago, specialising in designing and remodelling houses. She believes there is nothing more satisfying than being welcomed into someone’s home. One of the key elements to her success is getting to know clients and their families personally, to understand what is important to them and how they live.
So how does an architect decide what to wear? "As well as spending time with clients, I spend a large proportion of time on building sites. What I wear when I get up in the morning reflects the tasks that I anticipate undertaking that day. Turning up on site in a skirt and heels is not only unsafe, it is not a way for builders to take you seriously. My typical attire is smart jeans, shirt and jumper, which is then dressed up or down with a scarf. My whole career has been dominated by a male environment."
Here's more about Lynn's wardrobe staples, statements and a couple of her style secrets!
This month, I'm a bit further afield in West Yorkshire find out more about Erika Holt. Erika started as a beauty and fashion blogger with Eclectic Enchantments after years of being unwell, as a way to help her deal with what life was throwing at her and assist her in gaining more confidence. In that year things changed dramatically and Erika now runs a successful online publication, Erisea Magazine with her friend Chelsea. This has opened a world to Erika at her fingertips, writing about what she loves and interviewing people she admires!
The My Style monthly feature is all about local personalities and their very own look. In November, I'm talking to the gorgeous Katy Brown, Breakfast Show presenter at Buckinghamshire's Mix96.
First of all, I wanted to know a bit more about Katy:
A little about me? Well, my favourite colour is yellow, I only ever drink half a cup of tea and I feel ugly if my toes aren’t painted. The most important things in my life are my family, friends and puppy Mylo. He even has his own Twitter account - @mylothebeagle. I live in a world of organised chaos and my home is probably more stylish than me as I’d spend my last pennies on a Yankee Candle or some kind of trinket box that looks pretty but is too small to fit anything in. I have a regular column in Vale Life magazine where I talk about life as a radio presenter and I tweet my day to day general wonderingments on @katybrownradio.
