Do you have a favourite fashion decade?
Yes, well I suppose it is not just one decade, I love the 1920's-1950's. If I needed to pick one though it would have to be the 1940's, elegance in simplicity, with the make do and mend mentality, made for some amazing outfits!
Definitely the 1940's and the mentality that women had during wartime. The way they made the best of what they had and always looked impeccable. The dresses and hairstyles in particular influence what I wear a great deal.
What is the most cherished item in your wardrobe?
I think this would be the dress that I made a few years ago. I am not a seamstress by any stretch of the imagination, but not being able to find the clothes I like that fit me properly led me to explore designing my own. I am really proud of it.
Tell me about the most amazing shoes in your wardrobe (worn or not!)
My Mum bought me a pair of shoes I had been eyeing for a while, before I was very poorly. They are the most incredible pair of shoes I have ever seen and I adore them. They actually sit on a shelf in my room as I can't wear them any more.
I have been extremely lucky and travelled to many places around the world. I have to say though that my favourite place is Halifax in West Yorkshire. Something about it just feels like home, even though I am a Londoner born and bred, I moved her ten years ago and have never looked back. It is a stunning town!
I don't have one colour that I love, it seems to change depending on my mood. At the moment I am obsessed with a deep blue teal and a muted emerald green.
Again I like both, it depends on the situation. Neutrals are great for everyday wear and brights are fabulous when you want to make an impact and turn heads!
Florals. I love a good floral print, whether it is for my dresses, wallpaper, handbags or nails. I especially find vintage floral designs attractive and can always find a place for them in my life.
I love books, hardback, paperback or other. Ever since I learnt to read, I have had a book with me almost at all times. However much I am an advocate for a physical book, my illness has led me to explore digital media and I have a nice collection of books on my kindle for days when I cant hold a book and turn it's pages!
