Spring is officially here and a new season means a new style!

The skies may be sunnier but for now there is still a chill in the air. You may want to start to update your look for the new season but be reluctant to shed the warm layers of Winter just yet!

At Colour Me Beautiful, our philosophy is that small, simple changes can make the world of difference to how you look and feel, whether that's a change of footwear, a new colour to inject into your wardrobe, a fresh lipstick shade or even a new hair style!

Read on for some top tips for giving your style a quick and easy update this Spring...

It's the season for stripes
Nothing says Spring like a classic stripe - this look returns every year and will always be a Spring staple.

How you wear stripes this season will depend on your body shape:

Neat Hourglass - your top and bottom are in balance so you can wear stripes anywhere! Have fun!

Triangle - horizontal stripes are a great way of drawing attention to your upper half. Always wear plain colours below the waist.

Rectangle or Inverted Triangle - opt for vertical stripes to follow your straight body shape and show off your flat hips and bottom!

Curvier body shapes like Full Hourglass and Oval are better wearing stripes as accessories - opt for a fabulous statement bag, scarf or other accessory.

Step out in new shoes
This season footwear options are many and varied - from chic flats to lace-ups, platforms to bright statement shoes and everything in-between, whether you're a Classic, Natural or Dramatic, there's plenty to choose from.
Whilst we're waiting for the weather to warm up, opt for a closed toe that can be worn with trousers or a skirt at the office, or with denim for a more casual look.
These silver pointed flats from Next will add a sophisticated edge to any look - a pointed toe will elongate your leg but beware of an ankle strap if your legs are shorter, opt for a classic ballet flat or a brogue-style shoe if this is you!

Go for the chop!
If you fancy a real change this Spring then why not try a new hairstyle?
Changing your hair is one of the quickest ways to refresh and update your look and with celebrities including Cheryl Cole, Myleene Klass, Alexa Chung and Caroline Flack all going for the chop, now is the time to go for it!
The hairstyle of the season is either a 'lob' (a long bob that sits on the shoulders) or a blunt bob - both can be worn either sleek and straight, or with waves.
Before taking the plunge be sure to discuss your new hairstyle with your stylist. Ensure that the style you're going for will suit your face shape and style personality - although short hair can look like it would be low maintenance, often it requires daily styling and more frequent trips to the hairdresser.
